Complete Bourjois Rouge Edition Aqua Laque Shades | Review & Swatches

Hello beauties,

Today's post is all about new lippies, well, fairly new. I'm talking about the Rouge Edition Aqua Laque from Bourjois. These have been everywhere lately! Everyone is talking about them; nonetheless, reviews are mixed. I've been testing them out for around 2 months to really make up my mind. Here are my thoughts...

Bourjois is notoriously famous for their Rouge Edition Velvet lipsticks, and let's be real, matte lipsticks are all the hype at the moment and everyone is looking for the 'perfect' matte lipstick. Now, Rouge Edition Aqua Laque are on the complete other side of the spectrum, they are full on gloss with a beautiful shine.

Aqua Laque lippies have a sleek tube with a metallic cap, same concept as the Velvet lipsticks. I like the packaging, it is simple, sophisticated, and not over done.

The Aqua Laque Collection currently has 8 shades. They vary from nudes, pinks, to reds. Some of the colors look really similar to one another and that's one of the biggest downfalls, a purple and a bright coral would have completed the collection perfectly.

These pigmented lipglosses, as I like to call them, have a bizarre texture. They feel like water on your lips and that is the best way to describe them. They are not sticky at all and feel comfortable. Now, since they aren't so sticky/tacky, their lasting power is not that great. They last on the lips 2-3 hours and you will have to reapply them. The darker shades leave a nice stain on the lips which I quite enjoy.

These lipglosses didn't feather at all and they do not settle into the dry patches of the lips! Also, they look beautiful as lipstick toppers to spice up dull looking lips.

If you want a light shine to the lips then one application is enough. However, they are totally buildable and they can look intense and glossy.

Some of these shades are better than others, I've noticed some go on quite patchy no matter how many layers I put (check lip swatches).

Lip Swatches:
01 Appéchissant: Beautiful beige nude with an orange undertone.
02 Rosé On The Rocks: Baby pink, perfect for everyday wear.
03 Brun'Croyable: Ah, my perfect winter shade! I love brown lip colors with a red undertone. This one is just a tad patchy.
04 Viens Si Tu Roses: Classic red, this one was the patchiest out of the whole bunch.
05 Red My Lips: Haha, love the name! This bright red applied way better than 04!
06 Feeling Reddy: Your classic orange red! Great lip choice for summer!
07 Fuchsia Perche: Bright pink with a red undertone.
08 Babe Idole: Bright, neon pink.
