Product Review & Swatches | Laura Mercier Spring SS15 Collection

Hello beauties,

Laura Mercier released a new range of products for this SS15 season and I got to test out a few! Some are great... and some you might want to pass on.

Eight new shades of their Creme Smooth Lip Color lipsticks were released: Lychee Parfait, Audrey, Crushed Pecan, Milky Way, Praline Cream, Dry Rose, Biscotti, and Rose. I have Rose and I must say, it is so beautiful! It is a muted coral-y pink, the perfect spring/summer shade. It feels wonderful on the lips and has a lasting power of 3-4 hours since it is a creamy texture.

Another product which I tested out is the High Coverage Concealer For Under Eye. It is from their permanent collection. This concealer is extremely thick for the undereye area, it definitely works better for covering blemishes. The product comes out from a tiny nozzle in extremely low quantity and that is for a reason, you only need the tiniest bit!! It has amazing coverage and you only need a quarter of a pea size to cover that pesky blemish. Less is more with this concealer!

Laura Mercier released a new palette!! It's called the Watercolor Mist Eye & Cheek palette.

This palette has modern, veil-like shades of cement green that merge with washed-out mauve, wheat and dirty navy, while the face is kept fresh with a flush of color on the cheeks.

This palette has beautiful packaging, wrapped in a metal case with 3D water droplets all around it! Packaging gets A+.
Don't be fooled by the beautiful packaging though. Unfortunately, this palette does not live up to its expectations. I was really excited for this palette but I faced some difficulty when using it. The colors are all of the same cool undertones, muted and dirty-like so when trying to blend them, they would all blend together and become muddy looking.

The shades were also very chalky and patchy. However, the bronzing shade was alright but the highlighter/blush was pretty much non-existent.

Don't get me wrong, Laura Mercier is an AMAZING brand and most of their products that I've tried are really good but this palette was a hit and miss.

    1. I am bummed about the palette too but I will still use it, sometimes dull colors make good transition crease shades!
