December '14 GlamBox + Product First Impression

This month's box is full of skincare (+ one hair) products. I really wanted to test things out before coming on here and simply telling you what is in the box... because what is the point then?

So anyway, in this months box I got:
  • Labello Lip Butter - Vanilla
  • Dr. G Hydra Intensive Face Mask
  • Toppik Hair Building Fibers
  • Derma E Hydrating Trio Pack with Serum, Night Creme, and Cleanser
  • Nivea 3 in 1 Micellar Cleansing
I have mixed feelings about this box because the things that I was most excited about were an absolute disappointment and the things the I wasn't excited about were amazing!

Lets start from favourite to least favourite:

My favourite thing in this months box is this Trio Hydrating Pack from Derma E. I never tried anything from this brand before so I did not know what to expect and I honestly I did not expect much but Oh My Gosh, you guys, the night cream and eye cream are SO GOOD!

The night cream especially was the star for me. It is really thick since it is a night cream but usually with night creams/moisturizers I've tried before they sit on the skin and take time to dry. But with this cream my face literally drank it all in, in less than a minute (no exaggeration) and it was like there was nothing on my skin! Same thing happened with the eye cream. My skin felt so soft and hydrated the next morning!

Full size Trio (60ml): 140AED
Second favourite of this month is the Dr. G Hydra Intensive Face Mask. It contains 60% of botanical element such as hyaluronic acid and evening primrose oil. Umm, this mask costs 100 AED, what?!? That is expensive! Honestly, I will never spend that much on a mask.

It reminded me of the Olay masks we got a few months back in one of the boxes. This one however dried up faster than the Olay mask and it did not feel sticky. I really liked this mask and I would like to get it again in another Glambox maybe but no way I am spending so much on one mask.

Dr. G Hydra Mask (20ml): 100AED
Now lets talk about the disappointing products.

Toppik Hair Building Fibers, is made of natural keratin fibers that are magnetized with static energy. It interwines with your hair and makes it appear fuller and thicker. I have fine hair and this exactly what I need for those days where I feel like a bald grandma. Even though I received the Light shade, this stuff looked orange on my head, ew! Maybe I am doing something wrong. I really wanted to love this but it just didn't work for me.

Toppik Hair Building Fibers (12g, 27.5g, 55g): 99AED, 199AED, 299AED resp.
Second disappointing product, Labello Lip Butter. I do a lot of lip swatches/lipart for my instagram page and usually my lips end up feeling dry and tired so I like to reach for a lip balm that will restore some moisture back to my lips. Labello Lip Butter feels hydrating when it is on your lips, an hour after I removed it my lips felt drier! I tried it again a few times and the same thing happened. This product is a total fail for me.

Labello Lip Butter: 9.25AED
Last, and most disappointing product in this month's box, Nivea 3 in 1 Micellar Cleansing water. This was the product I was most excited about because, hello, dupe for Bioderma Sensibo maybe?? Oh you guys, I tried removing my eye makeup with this stuff. It was so hard to remove my makeup which made me tug on my eyes more than usual and it is so bad to do that (causes wrinkles). And after a minute my eyes started to sting! This cleanser is nowhere close to being as good as the Bioderma one, sorry Nivea.

Nivea 3 in 1 Micellar Cleansing (200ml): 22AED
Final Verdict:
Even thought this box has hits and misses, I really enjoyed it. The Derma E Trio made me like this box. I rarely repurchase things that I get in my Glamboxes,  its only happened with the KoKo Nailpolishes, and the Isadora eyelash growth serum but this Derma E Trio shot up to my top 5 must buy list. And this is why I love Glambox, for a small amount of money you get to test new products and find out what your preferences are. I just wish they would add more makeup in their monthly boxes and have more makeup dedicated boxes.

Hope you enjoyed this post!

  1. Lovely review, Sarah!. I have always been attracted to the brand Derma E on iHerb. But never bought it. I went and checked out the night cream there. http://www.iherb.com/Derma-E-Hydrating-Night-Cream-2-oz-56-g/14868?rcode=SCZ695. It contains Hyaluronic acid. No wonder your skin loved it!. Thanks to your review, I will buy this one sometime in future. Already added to wish list!. It's price looks great too for such a good product.

i have seen Toppik reviews online.. video reviews you know. They do look cool. But sad, it looks orange for you. I wonder why!. I didn't even know Nivea had a Micellar cleanser. Btw, you would want to correct it from 22ml to 200ml.

That mask is crazy expensive!!. Whoa 100 bucks!. I have seen that little Labello tin but never tried it. I will just skip it all together!. Don't want dry lips. Overall, nice post, Sarah ♡

    1. No wayy! I didnt know that Iherb has Derma e! Thank you for telling me! I'm sure it is cheaper than pharmacies here! I might grab the night cream and day cream or the soothing moisturizer, hmmm.

I really didnt like Toppik. The color was off, maybe I should try another shade. And thank you for correcting me about the Nivea cleanser :D

Yeah, 100AED for one mask is a lot of money, I'd rather buy Derma E creams.
And skip on the labello balm, so pointless!

  2. Hello friends! Have you heard about toppik hair Fattener? Actually my hairs are very thin. One of my friends suggested me using this product. She gave very nice toppik reviews. Please share your experiences with this hair Fattener product!
