My Skincare Routine and How I Got Rid of Acne

Hello beauties,

Today it is all about skincare! Let me just start off by saying that skincare is a key factor in looking good without makeup. Not only that, if your skin is clean and well taken care off then your makeup application will be easier and your makeup will look twice as good!

I suffered from acne ever since I was 14 y/o, and after trial and error I can finally say I have found something that works perfectly for my skin, and hopefully will work well with yours as well. Keep in mind, I have oily to combination skin. So here are the products I use and how I use them...

Step 1: Cleansing the Skin

Three of my favourite products for this step are:
  • Bioderma Sébium Foaming Gel which is a daily purifying cleanser.
  • Bioderma Sensibio H2O which is a micelle solution for face cleansing and removing water-resistant makeup, and oh boy, am I in LOVE with this cleanser. I mean it feels like water, smells like water, removes the toughest mascara, never irritates my skin, has the perfect mini travel size bottle.. argh, I can go on and on about it. I love it so much that I have three back-up bottles, yeah, three!
  • Bioderma Sébium H2o Toner, it'll remove any makeup excess left on my skin and clean my pores. Three drops on a cotton pad, that is all you need.

Step 2: My holy grail, the almighty Clarisonic.

For those of you that have no idea what this is, the Clarisonic is a skincare electronic brush that is said to be six times better than your hands alone. In 60 seconds, it removes impurities from pores so that creams, serums, and moisturizers are more effective. It reduces dry patches (which are long gone for me after using it), oily areas, and blemishes (omg, yes!).

I use it twice a week while taking a shower since it is water-resistant. My weird dry patches that were above my eyebrows have disappeared, my breakouts have reduced (and if I get one blemish, it'll be gone in two days), my pores are super clean since the Clarisonic removes all dirt and makeup that sinks into them, and my skin is super smooth!

Step 3: Creams, Serums, and Moisturizing!

You are probably thinking "Are all her skincare products from Bioderma?"... No, not all my skincare products are Bioderma but they are the only ones worth mentioning and the only ones that help my skin and show results. So enough with the blabber, lets go on...

From left to right:
  • First off, Bioderma Sébium Hydra which is a daily moisturizer. I love it, blends in really well and it does not leave a sticky feeling to the skin after applying. My skin drinks it up and it feels like there is nothing on my skin. I use it daily as a first step to prep my skin for the day.
  • Bioderma Sébium Al is an intensive care cream for acne prone skin. It speeds up elimination of spots and blackheads and prevents them from reappearing. It reduces redness and relieves irritation. I use this only when I sense a breakout coming.
  • Bioderma Sébium Global is a serum that helps fight spots and blackheads. I use it every night after washing my face with the Foaming Gel. But I do alternate between this and Al, I never use them together.
  • Bioderma Sébium Pore Refiner, helps smooth out the skin and makes pores less visible. It can be used as a makeup base and it is my favorite face primer. I apply it all over my face after moisturizing.

Step 4: Face Masks

I am currently loving Lush's Cosmetic Warrior Face Mask*. It includes egg white, honey, tea tree oil, and garlic (yuck! but it does not smell like garlic though). This mask makes my skin feel squeaky clean! I use it every alternate day.

*Lasts only three weeks and must be kept in the fridge.

So thats it gals, hope you enjoyed this blog post.

  8. the days when u dont use electronic brush with the gel(daily cleanser), do you rub gel into your fingers first, to make it spume and then apply to your face or you just apply the gel immediately to your face without rubbing it into your fingers? Because i noticed with this Bioderma gel, it is a bit hard to make it spume on my face without rubbing it into my fingers first, ive got problems with my skin so i dont want to make it worse. thanks for the answer
